2014

Summer House began as a small family business with a showroom in Telford, originally specialising in just bathrooms.

2016

As we grew, so did our vision. In 2016, we expanded into kitchens and bedrooms. Alongside a growing team, we rebranded and moved to our current premises in Shrewsbury; a milestone that marked the beginning of a new chapter.

Our client base developed and so did our opportunities to work on larger, full home projects. We found ourselves spending more time on site, surveying and working closely with clients to reimagine entire spaces, not just individual rooms. Our work started being recognised nationally, with features in leading home magazines.

2026

Now with a team of 30+ multi- talented individuals, including our in-house design and construction teams, we now offer a fully managed service. We are able to take projects from initial concept and 3D design, through to construction, installation and final styling. We’re also extremely proud to have won ‘Transformation of The Year’ for our Foam House Project, completed 2025.

STUART THORNER

Founder and Director; Stuart has spent more than 12 years building Summer House into the trusted and recognised, local company it is today.

With extensive experience in full home refurbishments and property development, he likes to take a hands-on and proactive approach to project management and thrives off of creative challenges. As an extremely motivated individual, he has always remained focused on our core values and what our purpose is.

KATIE THORNER

Having built a strong online presence with her home renovation Instagram account, @reviving_no37, Katie showcases local and timeless interior inspiration. Her style has been featured in a selection of well-known Home & Interiors magazines and online social platforms. Katie strengthens our online presence with her ability to inspire clients, other traditional homeowners and engage with her audience.

Stuart and Katie both share a passion for interiors and family-orientated design, which makes for a perfect team at home, as well as at work!

Katie also loves to help our design team with styling and staging projects post-completion, with her decorative pieces from Olro Home.
